When we moved to Hole in the Woods Farm, Chad was shocked at how much he missed his herb garden.  The old one having been built over a period of several years, he just didn’t realize how much a part of daily life it was.  Inspiration when dinner ideas failed to appear could be found merely by taking a stroll through the herb garden and seeing what smelled good.

Alas, we still haven’t built the new herb garden, though it is high on the project list.  We do grow several herbs for market though, and as we build the herb garden, the selection should multiply rapidly.  If you haven’t experienced cooking with fresh herbs, you owe it to yourself to experiment!  The flavor offered by fresh herbs is much more complex and engaging than dried, and much more inspiring as well.
